Steps

  1. Set criteria and weights before reviewing proposals. Delete the synthetic demonstration row when using live records.

  2. Enter scores from 0 to 5 and evidence for Vendor A and B. Set each mandatory gate to Pass, Fail or Unknown.

  3. Review calculated weighted scores only after all criteria and gates are populated. Missing entries remain incomplete.

  4. Use the Demo sheet to test the same scenario for each provider. Retain selection rationale and accepted assumptions.

Synthetic example

Illustrative weights are 25%, 20%, 20%, 20% and 15%. Example scores produce Vendor A 73/100 and Vendor B 81/100 when all gates pass. These are synthetic scores, not rankings of real providers.

Scope

Weights are normalized by their total; the total must be positive. Scores must be 0-5. A failed or unknown mandatory gate prevents a qualified result. The model supports procurement judgment; it does not perform due diligence.
